Tell Today of God’s Greatness

Men shall speak of the power of Your awesome acts, and I will tell of Your greatness.

Psalm 145:6

If you do not recall a day in your life when you received eternal life as a free gift from Jesus, then this article will not make sense to you. Please click the eternal life button now and learn more about finding peace with God and being born again today.

Eternal Life [1]

The Power of God. Jesus linked the power of God to many things in the Bible.  He taught that the power of God produced eternal life in Abraham, Isaac and Jacob (Matthew 22:23-33).  Jesus demonstrated His power in throwing the Egyptian horses and riders into the sea as they chased Israel (Exodus 14:31).  He declared that He gave the power to make wealth for His people (Deuteronomy 8:17).  Jesus healed people with His power (Mark 5:30; Luke 6:19) and cast out demons by His power (Luke 4:36; Luke 9:1).  He was declared the Son of God with power by the resurrection from the dead (Romans 1:4).  Jesus also proclaimed that the sign of the Son of Man (Jesus) will appear in the sky, all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of the sky with power and great glory (Matthew 24:30).

Tell of His Power.  With Jesus and His eternal power at work in my life, will I tell anyone about His power today?  In Psalm 40, Jesus spoke of some things He would do when He took flesh and walked among men.  He said He would proclaim “glad tidings of righteousness in the great congregation; behold, I will not restrain my lips, O Lord, you know” (Psalm 40:9).  The life of believers mirrors this passage: we should proclaim tidings of righteousness in the name of Jesus and talk of His power in our lives.  In Psalm 40, Jesus continued: “I have not hidden Your righteousness within My heart; I have spoken of Your faithfulness and Your salvation; I have not concealed Your lovingkindness and Your truth from the great congregation” (Psalm 40:10; John 7:14-18).  As you meditate upon God’s activity in your life (Psalm 145:6), do not keep it merely in your heart, but employ your lips to speak of God’s greatness.  All the great things God does in your life to demonstrate His power form part of a chain of His work stretching from the Garden of Eden to the end of time, and His power stretches out to the ends of the universe and beyond.  We should speak of the power of His awesome acts and talk of His greatness.

 Application for Today

Today I will take the meditation of my heart and speak of the power of Jesus Christ in my life.  I will talk of His power changing my life and the lives of people I know.  I will speak of His power over the enemy, and His power to give eternal life.  I will look for His power in my life, and relate the great stories of His power I have read in His word.  When my friends feel defeated and depressed, I will talk of the power of Jesus Christ and His gospel.  I know the greatest power of God in my life: He gave His life for mine upon the cross, and by the power of Jesus Christ, I know my sins have been forgiven by my faith in His forgiveness, received as gift of God (Ephesians 2:8-9).
