Speaking Praise Today

“My mouth will speak the praise of the LORD, and all flesh will bless His holy name forever and ever.”

Psalm 145:21

If you do not recall a day in your life when you received eternal life as a free gift from Jesus, then this article will not make sense to you. Please click the eternal life button now and learn more about finding peace with God and being born again today.

Eternal Life

I have been reading lately about ancient Greece. According to the historian that I read, the Persian armies that attacked Greece relied upon one great flaw in the Greeks. The Greek cities loved autonomy and self-rule. They hated giving power to anyone, especially anyone outside of their own city.  Each man wanted to be his own master, and to live alone in peace.  Well, the Persians with their vast army and tremendous navy found it much easier to face one city at a time, than a united group of cities fighting together. When the Greeks banded together, they fought better and finally won. You see, sometimes many people working together makes more sense that one man standing alone forever.

David had a keen sense as he concluded Psalm 145 that not only would he praise Jesus individually, but he would also be a part of “all flesh” blessing the holy name of God forever and ever.  Jesus said that the Father “gave Him authority over all flesh, that to all whom You have given Him, He may give eternal life” (John 17:2; compare 1 Corinthians 15:39 and Psalm 136:25 and Genesis 7:21). Consider all the generations since David wrote these words.  Thousands upon thousands, and millions upon millions now will be raising their voices in praise of God.  In fact, we know that “every knee will bow and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father” (Philippians 2:10-11).

The only way you can truly praise God today from your heart is by praising Jesus as your Savior. You must accept the free gift of God first.  Jesus said He gave His life to pay for all your sins.  He died in your place.  If you believe that Jesus will forgive you for your sins, then ask Him in faith right now to do what He promised: forgive all your sins now.

In summary, Jesus emphasizes three things about praise at the end of Psalm 145.

         1.  Praise starts with the individual heart, pouring forth praise for Jesus Christ.

         2.  All flesh will join together in praising Jesus Christ.

         3.  Praise from all flesh will continue for eternity.

 Application for Today

Today I will praise Jesus from my heart. I know that I am not alone in praising Jesus.  All flesh will join me in my praise of God, and together, people from all over the world will be praising Jesus. My praise from God will join together from others praising God today, and His praise shall continue for eternity.  Will you add your voice to the praise of Jesus today?
