Anti-Christ:

Know Your Enemy

Part Three

The Ruin of Anti-Christ

Revelation 19:20-21

If you do not recall a day in your life when you received eternal life as a free gift from Jesus, then this article will not make sense to you. Please click the eternal life button now and learn more about finding peace with God and being born again today. Eternal Life

You may recall that Christ triumphed over satan.  Christ led satan captive as a defeated foe and publicly displayed satan as a conquered adversary (Colossians 2:15).   Likewise, satan never had more power than God, because He has all power, and created satan; no one created God the Father, God the Son, or God the Holy Spirit.  God remains firmly in control of this world at all times, and nothing happens in the universe that He does not allow.  Even before Jesus died on the cross of Calvary, Jesus gave authority to His disciples to triumph over “all the power of the enemy” (Luke 10:19).  Therefore, satan’s final demise has always been a question of when God would bring about defeat and judgment upon satan and his slaves, not if it would happen.  On a personal level, if you resist satan, he will flee from you (James 4:7).  So, today we will study the Bible to learn more about the ruin of Anti-Christ.

And the beast was seized, and with him the false prophet who performed the signs in his presence, by which he deceived those who had received the mark of the beast and those who worshiped his image; these two were thrown alive into the lake of fire which burns with brimstone.

Revelation 19:20

The Return of Jesus Christ to Earth.  The tribulation period (seven years beginning with the Rapture) upon the earth ends with Christ returning to earth in person.  In Revelation 19:11-19,  we read about the return of Jesus Christ to make war upon the earth against the beast and the kings of the earth.  He rides upon a white horse, and wages war and judges in righteousness.  The earth has never been judged in complete righteousness like this before, and when Jesus exercises that power of divine righteousness, every person unprotected by the blood of Jesus Christ by faith will be unable to stand before the power of God bounding forth in righteousness.  From the mouth of Jesus, a sharp sword comes, so that He may strike down the nations.  He will wear the name “King of kings, and LORD of lords.”  The beast, the kings of the earth, and their armies will have assembled to make war against Jesus and His armies, but Jesus slays the wicked by the breath of His lips (Isaiah 11:4) and the armies behind the beast become food for the birds of the air (Revelation 19:20-21).

The Ruin of the Beast Throughout Scripture, the doom of the beast has been prophesied (Daniel 7:11; Daniel 7:27; Daniel 8:25; Daniel 9:27; 2 Thessalonians 2:8; Revelation 17:11; Revelation 19:20; Revelation 20:10).  The destruction of the beast (Anti-Christ) has been known since eternity past, and clearly predicted in the Old and New Testaments.  His destruction comes without human hands, by the direct action of the Lord Jesus Christ.  Jesus simply has the beast and the false prophet seized and thrown into the lake of fire.  We should always keep in mind this tremendous power of Jesus over all enemies.  We are commanded not to fear satan, Anti-Christ, or anyone except God (Matthew 10:28).  While the beast exercises great power for a limited time, and romps about pretending to be God, and exalting himself, judgment and ruin await him.  While he may work signs and miracles in conjunction with the false prophet, Jesus will have him seized and dethroned.  Jesus, our blessed Savior, will judge and make war in righteousness.  Justice and holiness will triumph in the end, and the Lord Jesus will reign upon this earth.  Notice too that in Revelation 19:20, the beast is seized and thrown into the lake of fire which burns with brimstone, where they will be tormented day and night forever and ever (Revelation 20:11).

So we learn more about the ruin of Anti-Christ today.

    ●  Anti-Christ will fall under the righteous power of Jesus Christ when He returns to earth.

    ●  Anti-Christ will have tremendous power upon the earth for a limited period of time, but his end is certain and well-known.

    ●  Anti-Christ faces torment night and day, in the lake of fire burning with brimstone.

Application for Today

As I live today, I will remember the ruin of satan and the beast (Anti-Christ).  They will burn in the lake of fire day and night, suffering constant torment.  They seek to deceive and destroy all men, especially the elect.  We have the privilege of sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ and seeing Jesus deliver people from the power of satan and his demons.  Will you be resisting the devil today, and believing in Jesus to overcome all of satan’s plans for you?  In Christ, we are more than conquerors over all enemies.  Will you live as a conqueror in Christ today?
