The Bible contains references to other books not necessarily contained in the canon of Scripture. 1The Bible mentions books not in the Bible, such as the Book of Jashar (2 Samuel 1:18, page 493); The spies wrote a book about the promised land, and divided the book into seven sections (Joshua 18:9, page 376); in the future, probably in the millennium, the deaf will hear words of a book, and out of their gloom and darkness the eyes of the blind will see (Isaiah 29:18, page 1113); these books do not appear to relate directly to the topic of eternal life.
